Question 1:

How do I join a zoom meeting?

Please note, you must first have the zoom app

(application) downloaded on your computer or mobile device (ipad, tablet or smart phone. Once you have downloaded the zoom app to your device, please watch this video that explains how to join a zoom meeting.

Question 2: When joining a zoom meeting, it says: "to allow" or "not allow" What do I do?

Answer:

When joining a zoom meeting, you should be prompted with a box that says "Join with computer audio" or "Join without computer audio". If you click the first option, you should be able to hear everyone and everyone can hear you. If you click the second option, you won't be able to hear others.

Question 3:

When joining a zoom, what do I do when it asks "Do you want to allow this page to open in zoom.us? [ There will be 2 options to choose from, "Allow" or "Cancel" ]

Answer:

You are probably getting this prompt/message due to your privacy setting on your browser. If you would like to allow, then click "Allow" to give permission for zoom to open on your computer in order for you to join the zoom session. If you don't want to allow, you can click "cancel".

Question 4:

Do you do one-to-one Zoom support sessions or in-person assistance?

Answer:

At the moment, we do not do either one-to-one Zoom support sessions or in-person assistance, however, we are thinking about changing the format of our zoom webinars so that instead of giving a lecture on a specific theme or topic, we are answering community questions. Please check our website for future updates on how we determine how to try and give more personalized help.
